Disabled Members
Our disabled members have a wide range of disabilities but they all have one thing in common, the desire to take part in activities in which they can participate in on a par with the able-bodied.
No experience of horses is needed before joining.
Normally the disabled will need to bring a carer with them to meetings to look after them when not driving. The carer will not be required to pay the annual subscription.
Driving instruction is given by experienced companion drivers..
Companion Drivers
All our Companion Drivers (able-bodied whips) are highly skilled and experienced, they are required to pass very demanding tests before being permitted to accompany a disabled member. They all take great pleasure in imparting their skills to their co-driver.
Helpers
Without our loyal helpers we could not function. At the start of the driving season courses are run initiating (or refreshing) them in the skills which they will need. These include checking harnesses, loading wheelchairs and handling the ponies whilst the carts are being loaded. The more energetic, (not necessarily the younger!) also accompany the drives on mountain bicycles.
All Members

The Annual subscription paid by all members is £10.00 Disabled members also contribute £2.00 per meeting towards costs.
Members are covered by our insurance policy when participating in our activities.
